Did the Black Metal pilgrimage to Norway with my lady. Most of our time was spent in Stavanger with some really great friends. It was totally beautiful and reminded me a lot of Canada, I am very tempted to move out there sometime soon. We had a funny beach party to celebrate the separation of Church and State complete with pentagram and upside down cross flag (yes, I am aware of the original meaning, St. Peter’s Cross, blah blah). We hiked up a mountain, and saw some festivities for May 17th. Spent a little time in Oslo too and it was all definitely a great breath of fresh air from Paris.
Alright it’s time to try to drudge up some self-confidence after a really tough couple of months.

I missed 2012 on account of living in France, but attended 2011 and will be attending 2O13.
FUUUUCK look at this lineup! Venom? Down? Carpathian Forest? Pig Destroyer? Tragedy? Bolt Thrower? How stoked am I to say I played with a band who will play at MDF? Heartless, I love y’all. I am stoked to see Masakari too and hang out with friends in other bands. I fucking love metal and hardcore, damn. I’m excited by how many friends will be there as concert-goers as well. I wish I were playing. I need to start a new band in Toronto, but all women this time. MDF’s going to rule. I also just met some really nice vegans in Paris who are from Baltimore and who promised to help us find vegan food that is not the Whole Foods salad bar.
